Strategic Sourcing Specialist - (Contract Analysis, Purchasing)

Summary:
Assumes accountability and responsibility for analytical duties related to contracting and negotiating supplies/services/equipment throughout Summa Health System (SHS) and its managed and affiliated member hospitals and clinics/alternate care facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor's Degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
b. Six Sigma or Lean experience preferred

2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Five (5) years previous experience in healthcare materials management Department/Purchasing or related experience to include three (3) years analytic experience including Excel, ERP Software, and other analytic programs.

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Expert knowledge of the healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) industry
b. Ability to utilize multiple software programs and integrate data from various sources
c. Excellent analytical skills with knowledge of Word/Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
d. Ability to identify problems and resolve with customers (internal and external), vendors, and GPO
e. Willingness to travel to current and prospective client sites, sites for GPO regional and national meetings, and locations within the SHS system
f. Supervisory and management applied skills
g. Experience with complex projects
h. Knowledge of the Value Analysis process
i. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Sedentary: Exert up to ten (10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently

$30.60/hr - $45.90/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
