About the Role

Uber Direct enables merchants to unlock last mile delivery for their customers via their app or website. As a Strategy & Operations Manager, you will manage operational improvements to drive the best reliability for Direct and unlock Uber's next big bet by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our partners have the best experience possible when using our platform. That means delivering on our promise to deliver any order on time, at any time.

In this role, you will work on high impact projects which will help improve our last mile delivery reliability. We are looking for an outstanding individual who is passionate about designing and building creative solutions to our most complex problems! You will work closely with our Leadership Team, and drive alignment across the entire organization, including Operations, Partner Management, Product, and Engineering.

What You'll Do:

- Proactively scope and lead multiple projects to improve reliability for the Direct business; take accountability for project outcomes, ensure delivery on project critical metrics, & keep others informed of progress
- Analyze sophisticated data, build models, and aggregate insights to drive key business decisions and policies
- Define critical metrics and develop dashboards to track business performance; report findings to senior leadership to define long-term strategy and decision-making
- Collaborate and work cross-functionally with other operations teams as well as Product, Partner Managers, Sales, Finance, etc. to ensure insights inform broader critical initiatives
- Coordinate with the Product team to prioritize and iterate on new tech features that improve the merchant experience

Basic Qualifications:

- 2+ years of work experience in program management, ops and strategy, or analytics role in a related field (startup, consulting, finance, tech)
- Experience with analysis and building models in Excel/Google Sheets or similar tool and basic SQL
- Bachelor degree

Preferred Qualifications:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional data management skills and strong SQL proficiency is a plus
- Experience with Python/R or other statistics/BI tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills; proven ability to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently delivering against hard deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to synthesize information quickly, to distill key takeaways, and to weave insights into a compelling story that clarifies and inspires
- Ability to build deep cross-functional relationships across a broad organization, foster collaborative work environment, and understand problems from diverse perspectives. Humility and empathy are critical to success in this role

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$101,000 per year - USD$112,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$101,000 per year - USD$112,500 per year.
