Conducting a search for a Staff Engineer or Evaluation Specialist with an expertise in Plumbing, Mechanical, Gas in Brea, CA.
This role is very technical and complex in nature and suits an individual that brings a senior level of experience in code review and evaluation in this space.

The Staff Engineer reports directly to the V.P. within the organization. The duties include but are not limited to:
  • determining the compliance of products, materials and methods with building, plumbing, mechanical and gas codes and technical standards;
  • developing listing criteria, and representing the organization before professional organizations, standards-writing bodies, and stakeholder groups
  • Duties will also include supporting sales activities for the PMG group

Within this role, responsibilities include:
  • Through close review of technical data, evaluates products for code compliance and compliance with applicable technical standards.
  • Prepares listings, reports, technical criteria, and correspondence.
  • Conducts sales activities which include communication with potential clients and assist in the application/quoting process to secure new report applications
  • Develops technical criteria for the listing of plumbing products.
  • Provides expert advice to building/plumbing departments across the United States.
  • Participates as necessary in Committee meetings and may involve organizational representation at events, seminars and conferences - domestically and internationally
  • Keep abreast of developments in the PMG field
We are seeking individuals with skills and experiences including:
  • University degree in engineering or architecture.
  • Professional registration/license to practice engineering or architecture, or equivalent experience (P.E.; S.E.; EIT)
  • At least (5) five years of experience in an engineering-related field, the construction industry, code development or enforcement, or product testing;
  • Experience with modern design and construction methods and materials.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, tools and methods used in construction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to independently solve complex engineering problems
  • Ability to work as part of a team to deliver professional services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the codes and of design standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of test standards and methodologies.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of quality control processes for the manufacture of building and plumbing products.
