Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position involves the coordination of clinical management of the structural heart patient, specifically TAVR, MitraClip and Watchman patients across the entire continuum of care. Manages and coordinates the structural heart clinic and assures thorough patient evaluation and education for the patient procedure. Serves as a leader for the hospital structural heart program and drive performance and improvement initiatives. Acts a a clinical resource and a role model for all areas caring for structural heart patients. Provides and/or coordinates educational activities for both staff and patients. Acts as a community liaison on behalf of the program and the hospital to promote awareness and education on structural heart procedures. Collaborates in the development and delivery of care for the Dignity Health Bakersfield market.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of accredited nursing school
  • 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in Cardiology, Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery or Emergency Department
  • ACLS (CT ACLS), BASIC LIFE SUPPORT-AHA (CT CPRBLS), REGISTERED NURSE
  • Must possess leadership and communication skills to coordinate an interdisciplinary team; public speaking experience desirable; working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs
  • Proven ability to follow protocol specific care delivery

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN, preferred
  • 1 year experience in ACC Cardiac Registry, desired
