Responsibilities
Utilizes sound judgment and critical thinking during the intake, informal resolution, and formal investigation of non-Title IX student conduct allegations. Conducts thorough, reliable, prompt, fair, and impartial investigations of reports. Maintains confidentiality and acts a neutral party throughout the investigative process. Compiles clear, concise, and comprehensive investigative reports. Maintains timely communication with all parties, as appropriate.
Serves as a resource in training students, student organizations, faculty, and staff regarding the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Organization Code of Conduct. Reviews and recommends updates to the Student Code of Conduct and Student Organization Code of Conduct, as needed.
Works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean and Senior Associate Dean of Students to recommend, develop, and implement updates and revisions for effective and promising investigative practices and policies & procedures. Assists with departmental planning and assessment initiatives. Represents the department on divisional institutional committees and work groups, as assigned.
Conducts research on regulations and guidance to assess applicability to current complaints. Engage in ongoing training and development to keep apprised of new develops and best practices in investigations, along with other relevant federal and state legislation and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience including one year of investigation experience or two years of student conduct experience. (Note: or a post high school education and six years of experience including one year of investigation experience or two years of student conduct experience)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree with two years' experience

The Office of Investigations & Assessment (I&A) responds to and investigates reports regarding student organization and student group misconduct. The concerns investigated include hazing, alcohol, disruption and obstruction, and more. Student organizations and groups are integral to the holistic student experience at FSU. I&A frequently interacts with campus partners, such as Student Organizations & Involvement, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Conduct & Community Standards, and the University Police Department. In I&A, there is the opportunity to positively impact the student's experience by investigating student organization concerns, surrounded by supportive and creative campus partners working towards the same goal of a safe and healthy campus.
