Then the Youth Employment Opportunity Program (YEOP) may be for you! We are seeking individuals that are self-driven, creative, and are interested in working with youth. The ideal candidate would have a passion for helping other youth achieve their educational and occupational goals; Must be comfortable with communicating via different channels (phone, email, face-to-face). Patience; listening skills; conflict resolution; provide a positive experience for customers, and have the ability to motivate. You will work collaboratively, dependently, as well as with a diverse and talented group of student assistants, mentors and managers. Will also work independently; candidate should have experience in seeing and acting upon new opportunities, thinking and acting independently and promptly addressing problems. Dependability/Reliability. Effectively market the youth program.

Position exists in Anaheim, but may be required to work in other Orange County Region offices, including Brea and Santa Ana.

This position may work up to 1,500 hours in a 12 consecutive month period. The Employment Development Department (EDD) offers flexible scheduling during operating hours designed with your educational success in mind. EDD operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants applying for this position must meet YEOP eligibility criteria, and provide proof of application for, or enrollment as a student in, an appropriate college, university program, or other post-secondary education. Those with limited or no work experience are encouraged to apply.

This position may be eligible to telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on EDD's evolving telework policy. The selected candidate will be required to report to their worksite with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. Employee may work at workstations within shared cubicles.

Background Investigation Requirement

The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.
