Description & Requirements
As a student associate at Forvis Mazars, you will gain valuable experience that may help you decide whether you want to start your career in audit, consulting or tax, or even whether public accounting is right for you. You will work on client engagements similar to those assigned to our entry-level associates, gaining exposure to a variety of industries, and testing out your technical know-how. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset.
As a member of the Outsourced Accounting Services (OAS) team, you will gain valuable experience and exposure to a variety of projects, as well as being able to test your technical know-how. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset. Your responsibilities could include the following areas:
How you will contribute:
• General ledger and processing accounts payable
• Sales and payroll tax reporting
• 1099 tax reporting
• Account/bank reconciliations and depreciation schedule preparation
• Monthly and year-end closing assistance
• Preparing financial statements
• On-site or digital accounting outsourcing
• QuickBooks consulting and assistance with accounting system design
• Assisting with the training of clients, staff, and other OAS personnel

• Commitment to provide unmatched client service
• Ability to prioritize work for multiple clients and consistently meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Precise attention to detail
Hours Requirement:
We are able to be flexible with your school schedule providing you are able to:
• Accommodate our normal business hours of Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm
• Have the ability to work each day of the week (M-F)
• Commit to at least 15-25 hours per week during the academic year
• 20+ hours per week during the summer if requested
Minimum Qualifications:
• Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university, 3.25 GPA (overall and major) preferred.
• Ability to balance academic schedule with the workload for multiple clients and projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fluency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Applicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
