Who We Are:

The Spacecraft Development Department is a group of innovative engineers, program managers, and technicians developing unique spacecraft solutions for challenging space missions. We design and fabricate custom solutions to explore the boundaries of science or solve complex problems not yet delivered by industry using a variety of payloads.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Local year-round Student position.
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams to support the design, analysis, and build of cutting edge spacecraft.
  • Work in integrated project teams to support the full lifecycle of hardware development.
  • Collaborate with engineering team on customer requests to compile and present date to justify design decisions.
  • Support R&D and promotional efforts to develop and implement new technologies.
  • Support project managers with the development and maintenance of detailed, intermediate, and top-level integrated schedules in accordance with current best practice industry standards (e.g., GAO; DoD; NASA).


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Support spacecraft system design to include mission requirements and operations planning.
  • Use CAD to design structures and assemblies for space including mechanisms and spacecraft.
  • Support mission design using simulation software.
  • Participate in assigned project team meetings.


Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar engineering space-focused degree.
  • 0 years: Design experience thru project work or internships with Computer Aided Design software is preferred.
  • Interest in spacecraft system design and project management.
  • Experience with modeling software for mission design preferred.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
