Job Summary: The Student Professional Development Program Manager supports the unit in the development of students. Responsibilities for this role may include interfacing with student organizations, supporting the development of leadership and professional development programming, coordinating student engagement initiatives, as well as fostering an environment for student growth and success.
Additional Department Summary: The Student Development Program Manager within the Office of Undergraduate and International Programs strategically oversees and implements professional development and career programs crucial for student success at the Culverhouse College of Business. The Student Development Program Manager should collaborate with industry partners, alumni, and the Career Center to deliver comprehensive programs that enhance students' interview skills and prepare them for successful internships and careers. A key feature of this role is coordinating with all Culverhouse student organizations to foster a sense of community and collaboration across organizations. The Student Development Program Manager will also support the development and growth of the LEAD Connect mentorship program.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience; OR Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Critical aspects include candidate being a highly organized self-starter and possessing (a) strong interpersonal and organizational skills, (b) creative and critical thinking skills, (c) excellent oral and written communication skills (d) knowledge of budgets, budgeting, and ability to create cost effective programs, (e) ability to establish and execute on long-range strategies and objectives, (f) effective reporting, (g) ability to multitask, (h) high quality presentation skills and ability to communicate through various platforms and modalities, (i) ability to supervise and oversee and coordinate with others to achieve goals, (j) experience with Microsoft suite of Office Products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and (k) knowledge or ability to learn in career planning and development, professional communication, professional etiquette, and networking.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Higher ED or business and experience in marketing, career services, student engagement and success, leadership training, management education, recruiting, development, or related experience is preferred.
