The Institute of Living, one of the first mental health centers in the U.S., remains one of America's leading not-for-profit centers for patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorder. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary
Under direct supervision, participates in development and implementation of patient care plan for mental health patients in a school setting in order to assist students in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of mental health. Provides direct therapeutic services related to behavior management and social skill building; co-leads therapy groups; and performs delegated case management activities. Reports to Program Manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree required; with major in Human Services preferred.
• DMV requirements for transporting students to and from activities and/or to and from school may be required.
• Previous experience working with age-specific patient population preferred in either a mental health or other appropriate setting (eg. social services, camp, school, etc.).
• Previous experience working with emotionally disturbed patients highly desirable.
• Effective written and verbal communications skills required.
• Individual programs may require: bilingual in Spanish/English or other languages, or specific certifications.
• Successful completion of crisis intervention training program
