Position Summary Information
Position Summary
Manage the housing assignment process for over 2800 students residing on-campus, making strategic decisions on assignments, placement, and room changes for all students living on-campus.
Analyze incoming returning student contract requests, transfer contract requests and new incoming student contracts (as well as release management) to ensure spaces are available and meet occupancy targets.
Responsible for the development and implementation of room selection and assignment process of all on-campus students for fall and spring semesters, and summer sessions through the Adirondack Solutions - Housing Director software program.
Analyze where placement of students based on space, availability, living learning communities, logistics of the halls and needs of students.
Develop, promote, evaluate, and analyze the student housing assignment time-lines, processes (including room change/swap), procedures, contracting forms/agreements, and publications.
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, for student housing, incorporating a variety of methods including social media.
Represent the department at university events such as, but not limited to: orientation sessions, admissions and recruitment events, department meetings.
Provide input on housing related procedures and update forms as needed.
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of system requirements and operations.
Provide annual occupancy and budget projections.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree; 2 years full time professional experience in higher education housing/residence life or 3 years full time experience in higher education student advisement/case management; knowledge and understanding of housing assignment process and in a higher education setting.
A successful campus interview and presentation and the ability to pass a criminal background check also required.
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree; experience with housing assignments and accommodations, experience with housing management software applications and databases, creating and interpreting statistical reports, marketing; and experience working with diverse populations.
