What You Will Do:
Intern will perform aircraft maintenance and servicing on the general aviation aircraft in the state agency's fleet.
Observes and assists in a live maintenance environment
ensure documents and records are maintained in compliance with federal law.

Official Position Description:
Based on job duties, this position is designated as NOT telework eligible.
In Office of Aviation Operations, assists with maintenance, repair, & inspection of state fixed-wing & helicopter aircraft(s). Assists with aircraft & engine inspections & operational checks (e.g., engine-diagnosis) in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, aircraft manufacturers, & internal agency regulations. Utilizes computer & related software (e.g., Microsoft Work, Excel,. Adobe Acrobat) to enter data; ensures accurate maintenance of actions; files maintenance records; scans, indexes, & audit's records into records software. Ensures Major Component replacements are updated in regulatory compliance & all necessary documentation related to the repair/replacement of any engine is filed in the aircraft permanent records.
Maintains records (e.g., fuel & oil intake, daily accounting records, & sales to other state agencies). Assists with fuel farm to ensure required maintenance (i.e., scheduled & unscheduled) is in compliance. Complies with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) monitoring & ensures appropriate documentation & licensing is current. Assists with refueling operations, ground handling of aircraft, & aircraft custodial services.
Assists with minor aircraft maintenance & minor maintenance on ground support equipment (e.g., ground handling equipment, fire apparatus). Performs other work-related duties as assigned (e.g., cleans aircraft interior & exterior; assists with aircraft inspections).
This Position is Unclassified per Section 124.11(A)
The rate of pay is based upon the student's academic status
Freshman and Sophomore - $15.46 per hour
Junior and Senior - $15.96 per hour
Graduate Students - $19.41 per hour
