JOB SUMMARY

The Data & Reporting Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the technical infrastructure, reporting functionality, and data integrity of enterprise-wide compliance programs. This role involves overseeing database systems, generating executive-level reports and dashboards, supporting compliance billing departments, and contributing to data-driven projects. The position requires expertise in database management, programming, and technical training, as well as the ability to lead complex data initiatives in the absence of established standard operating procedures. Additionally, the manager will be the primary resource for reporting, analysis, and support to the Compliance Billing Teams and will develop a comprehensive understanding of the revenue cycle and related systems within BSWH.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  1. Oversee Technical Infrastructure & Reporting Functionality:


o Manage the database and reporting infrastructure for the enterprise-wide Conflicts of Interest Program while functioning as the technical liaison with the website host vendor.

o Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools such as Microsoft Access and Excel.

o Ensure effective database operations and develop SOPs for all areas of work.

  1. Provide Executive-Level Reports & Dashboards:


o Create and deliver reports and dashboards for compliance activities using Power BI and Excel.

o Collaborate with departments like Medical Staff Services, HR, AP, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure data accuracy and relevance.

  1. Support Compliance Billing Teams:


o Assist billing teams by querying patient encounters, diagnoses, procedures, and Medicare claims within the EPIC EHR system.

o Write and execute SQL queries in SQL Server Studio while adhering to access limitations.

o Apply strong analytical skills to analyze, interpret, and summarize complex data.

o Utilize advanced mathematical and statistical methods to identify healthcare trends and optimize data analysis.

  1. Contribute to Data-Based Projects:


o Support data migration, mapping, cleansing, and user acceptance testing for case management and other system transitions.

o Assist in implementing and consolidating new data systems and processes.

  1. Develop & Deliver Technical Training:


o Design and deliver technical training sessions focused on knowledge transfer and skill development for colleagues at various levels.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Database Management: MS Access, SQL Server
  • Programming Languages: VBA, Office Scripts, DAX, SQL, R, SAS, Scala, Matlab, Python, Spark, Hadoop, Tableau
  • Applications: MS Excel, Power BI, SQL Server Studio, EPIC EHR, Power Automate
  • Data Modeling, Analytic Techniques, Technical Writing, Instructional Design & Delivery
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports, EPIC, and Clarity reporting data warehouse
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience (database management, reporting, and data analysis)

    o Certified Health Data Analyst

    o EPIC Revenue Data Model Certification

    o Database Administration (DBA) Certification

    o Database Management (DBM) Certification

    o Database Programmer Certification

      • Oracle or Microsoft SQL Certification
    • Preferred Experience:

      o Proficiency in Microsoft Office automation tools, Power BI, and VBA.

      o Experience with statistical software and familiarity with healthcare terminology and data processing.

      o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
