JOB SUMMARY

The Flow Cytometry Specialist directs the activities of flow cytometry work performed by other specialists and performs and monitors lab testing and analyses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Performs complex flow cytometry based testing.
• Ensures laboratory quality control procedures are followed and equipment functions properly.
• Develops new procedures and evaluates new equipment.
• Provides direction and instruction to staff, assesses proficiency, and coordinate proficiency testing.
• Trains staff and students.
• Maintains adequate and cost effective supply levels.
• Ensures flow cytometry lab is meeting regulatory and compliance standards.
• Participates in continuing education for flow cytometry.
