JOB SUMMARY

The Foundation Officer is responsible for identifying and cultivating donor relationships and maintains ongoing relationships with assigned donors, prospects, and internal leadership with emphasis on major gifts.

It will also include management of a comprehensive grateful patient fundraising program with goals to build a pipeline of grateful patient prospects, engage clinicians, administrators, and others in the grateful patient process.

This position requires significant teamwork and frequent contact with Foundation leadership, donors, physicians, and employees at all levels of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Develops and implements strategies for the solicitation and acquisition of major and planned gifts.
  • Identifies new prospects and cultivates relationships with individuals for the purpose of advancing major gift solicitations by maintaining a portfolio of 75-100 individuals.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with volunteer leadership, institutional leaders and peers to maximize revenue.
  • Serve as project manager of the grateful giving fundraising program including coordination of daily operations
  • Work closely with major gift team members, ensuring synergy and strategic involvement, and prospect research team members, ensuring adequate screening and examination of potential philanthropic opportunities for grateful patients.
  • Manage physician referral activity, connecting identified physicians with major gift officers.
  • Provide detailed, timely and accurate data entry of relevant information.


KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Non-profit Studies or other related disciplines from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Ability to work with and motivate a broad spectrum of people including individual donors and prospects, board members, physicians, administrators, volunteers, and staff
  • Familiarity with the moves management principles and techniques of gift solicitation with a particular emphasis on individual major gift donors
  • Must be a proficient project manager and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proven ability to implement new initiatives, measure and discern progress and adjust to maximize results.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and high expectations for quality.
  • Proactively builds and grows relationships, collaborates with team members and gains alignment.
  • Curious learner, adaptable to evolving business needs and a changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and apply strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with donor database, Raiser's Edge a plus.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office 365 Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
