JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager - Patient Engagement and Community Research is responsible for organizing and leading teams for small to moderately complex projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of project tasks and goals. This includes managing the project scope, timeline, budget and resources, as well as providing leadership and guidance to project team members. The Project Manager will build trust and lasting partnerships with hard-to-reach populations who have traditionally been underrepresented in research and engage them in substantial patient-centered research efforts. The Project Manager will interface with the patient stakeholder advisory council which will guide and inform the PACER Center efforts to ensure the inclusion of underrepresented populations in clinical research in a manner that is appropriate to the scientific question under study and to ensure that research findings can be generalizable to the entire population.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Recruit patients and community stakeholders for the advisory council, manage logistics and facilitate meetings, work with the PACER project leads and other project team members.

Manage day-today operational issues for the patient and community stakeholders advisory council.

Create project plans/timelines. Work independently on meeting project goals.

Collaborates with other departments to obtain needed resources to complete projects within expectations and timeframes.

Manages projects to ensure quality and timely achievement of project deliverables and objectives.

Prepares and maintains project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets and status reports.

Communicates task assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and timely manner. Manages work plan and project tasks to meet committed time frames and project milestones.

Monitors project status, resolves risks, issues, action items and decisions in a timely manner and escalates to leadership for support when needed.

Facilitates team meetings to discuss project progress and contribute to preparation of project presentations related to research studies.

Serves as a contact to leadership and key stakeholders to report project progress and to assist with problem resolution.

Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

Maintains business operations and applications knowledge level to provide required information as needed.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or health related field preferred

Experience with patient engagement is a plu

Effective interpersonal and relationship building skill

Excellent communication (verbal and written), leadership, and problem-solving skill

Aptitude for quickly understanding and documenting new processes and technical concept

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the project team and stakeholder

Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking

Ability to balance demands and response to time constraint

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and collaboration tool
