Department: Medical Oncology, Outpatient, 2 physician clinic with infusion room-sees about 20 patients in clinic per day/infusion room averages around 17 patients per day

Main Location for this position: 2380 N I-35 E, Waxahachie, 75165

2nd Location: 310 E Hwy 67, Duncanville, 75137

RN must be open to travel between Waxahachie Cancer Center and Duncanville Cancer Center if needs arise and cross train between infusion and clinic.

FT Days Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm depending on patient load

No Weekends/major holidays/Call at this time

Selling Points: Doctors are good to work for, small, busy clinic with good team work

Preferred Skills: Great customer service skills-Eager to learn and be teachable-Oncology Certification-BSN

Must Have: Chemotherapy/Oncology Experience-IV/Port-a- Cath competency-Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider (must have within first 30 days -provided on site)-Proficiency in Computer based charting/Epic preferred-Be willing to travel between Duncanville clinic and Waxahachie clinic if staffing needs arise-Crosstrain between medical oncology clinic and infusion clinic.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.

What You'll Do

  • You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.
  • You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Grad of an Accredited Program
  • Specialized field of study should be nursing.
  • A current and valid nursing license.
  • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
