Insight Global is looking for a Substation Engineer to join one of their largest utility clients in Spring Valley, NY. They will be joining a team of eight to help replace all the equipment of current substations and build new ones. The Substation engineer's daily responsibilities will include conducting substation layout design, drawing reviews, equipment/construction labor specifications, prepare sketches for Design Drafters, perform project cost estimates, and review and analyze reports for each project. This individual will perform ampacity calculations, substation grounding, battery sizing, lightning protection, and insulation co-ordination. As well as perform field walk and provide support before, during and after construction to the PM's they are partnering with.

Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of substation engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree specifically in Electrical Engineering
- Proficient with IEEE/ANSI Standards and NESC (National Electrical Safety Code)
- Experience with substation layout and major equipment including breakers, switches, and substation steel.
- Ability to interpret layout, one-line, and schematic drawings.
- Great communication skills
