A leading utilities company is on the lookout for a dedicated Substation Protection and Control Engineer. This role is pivotal in managing and creating detailed electrical substation drawings, including one-line diagrams, wiring, schematics for equipment, relaying, and SCADA systems, along with associated materials. Our team is diverse, with civil engineers crafting extensive physical drawings and apparatus engineers focused on the specification and procurement of large-scale equipment. These engineers take a hands-on approach, crafting wiring diagrams and collaborating closely with the companies CAD drafters. Our specialized Protection Engineering group is tasked with the specification and calibration of power relays and integration equipment, which are integral components in our Substation Engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

* Design and innovate electrical distribution and transmission substations or switching stations, either from scratch or by enhancing existing designs.

* Aid in the development and assessment of station layout options, selecting the most suitable design based on a wide range of inputs.

* Define the specifications for the necessary equipment, materials, and assemblies.

* Deliver comprehensive physical, electrical, and control designs for construction projects.

* Ensure all construction drawings and specifications are accurate and complete.

* Offer field support during construction and develop operating procedures upon project completion.

* Conduct property evaluations for potential station facilities and recommend acquisitions.

* Spearhead and facilitate the permitting processes as required.

Required Skills & Experience

* 4+ years experienced substation P&C engineers

* Experince with scoping, high level one lines, wiring and schematics in substations

* Experince with SCADA and relay work

* Proficiency in QA/QC (yellow-lining)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Familiarity with Bluebeam REVU

* Familiarity AutoCAD LT
