Job Summary/Overview

This position supports the New Product Development Department of the Conveyance business segment of CMCO. Tasks would include designing and detailing parts for products in the development phase and may also include design configuration programming, Bill of Material, part list, action list or other administrative support. In addition, the role includes R&D lab activities such as prototype build or revision activity, conveyor test support, or Sales Application testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create mechanical designs with direction from engineers.
  • Modify/create designs using existing precedence.
  • Detail designs created by engineers including tolerances, fits, dimension schemes etc.
  • Create detailed drawings using 3D Drafting software.
  • Work with lead engineer to keep track of part numbers used in the design via Bill of Material generation.


Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Mechanical or Electrical aptitude depending on area of engineering discipline.
  • Ability to define an issue and examine solution alternatives.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to Detail while managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office applications (Communication apps, Spreadsheet, Word Processing).


Required Qualifications

  • Student enrolled in a 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience using CAD software (eg; Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Pro-Engineer, UG NX, etc).
  • Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this role..
  • Must be able to work full time from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025.
  • Able to travel, as needed, for the internship beginning and ending.
