To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Summer Automation Engineering Intern located in Coopersvile, MI.

Reporting to the Automation Manager, the Summer Automation Engineering Intern will be responsible to solve complex problems and generate new ideas for a global organization; while utilizing creativity and innovation to develop entrepreneurial skills. Involved on projects which matter to the business and help achieve company goals. Work on challenging projects in support of real-time business issues, to develop skills and experiences.

What a typical day looks like:

• Assist with manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Interface with hardware, power and other peers to understand system architecture and design constraints.
• Create mechanical design concepts for various products and clients using mechanical tools.
• Assist with the design mechanisms improve installation and serviceability.
• Assist with testing and execution experiments for mechanical system optimization.
• Work with the team to build and test prototypes.
• Diagnose and make recommendation on prototypes, assembly or design failures.
