About the Role
The General Dynamics Land Systems Summer 2024 Internship Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals. As part of your summer experience, you will join our team and use your education, experience, and creativity to make an impact.
The candidate will work in a team environment that leads the development of new software products and improves existing applications. The candidate will also develop source data for provisioning, diagnostics, and technical publications including technical manuals, repair parts, service, and special tools list.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role

• The candidate will assist in designing, testing and eventual deployment of logistics products and processes that support current and future General Dynamics Land Systems vehicles and advanced projects
• Develop maintenance engineering source data
• Develop diagnostic / troubleshooting engineering source data
• Develop reliability engineering source data
• Research emerging technologies to improve existing products.
• Update our products or processes to current standards
• Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support with application users in the field.
• Occasional travel to deploy software or application.
• Ability to demonstrate applications, troubleshoot, and/or in front of live audience.
• Data entry and manipulation

Qualifications Sought

• Pursuing a bachelors degree software/computer engineering from an accredited 4-year university or college.
• Attained at least a sophomore status based on university/colleges class standing requirements at the start of the internship
• GPA of 3.5 or higher is highly preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
• Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment.
• Must be able to complete a minimum of a full-time, three- month assignment
• Computer skills (competent with MS Office applications)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
• Strong analytical and creative skills to solve complex problems
• Strong propensity to record and document processes, software and source code
• Occasional, short-term travel
• Required to adhere to strict project schedules and meet high quality standards within their assigned duties and scope of influence.
