Job Purpose: The Project Engineer Intern is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and resolving daily construction problems and discrepancies onsite. He/she interfaces with the client engineer, owner, subcontractors and vendors for day-to-day activities.

- Maintain and update specifications and contract manuals for the project
- Maintain project drawings and distributes revisions to all parties involved
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings
- Prepare any submittals or RFIs
- Maintain schedule updates based on daily progress
- Advise Superintendent and Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager on the compliance of the subcontractors and vendors
- Develop a thorough understanding of and enforce contract requirements
- Track and input daily quantities into the project tracker
- Assist in the monthly production reporting.
- Represent Western Utility at all meetings with sub-contractors
- Assist in the preparation of estimates and quotations for extra work
- Assist with bid preparation, subcontractor solicitation and bid evaluation
- Assist the Project Management with project efficiency
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university at the time of the internship
- Engineering, Construction Management or related majors strongly preferred
- Must have a sophomore, junior or senior class standing
- Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to take initiative, work well under pressure, and work independently or under executive direction
