Skills and Experience:

This position will be responsible for overseeing all millwright related activities on projects for industrial clients including Pulp and Paper, Power, and Petro-Chem. This role will also be responsible for planning and managing all millwright direct labor and ensuring the safe execution of mechanical work activities on the project.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications preferred
  • NCCER Credentials for Millwright and Crew Leader preferred
  • Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years previous industrial construction experience as a Millwright General Foreman or Millwright Superintendent is required
  • Medium to large project experience ($2mm and up) is required
  • Must be willing to travel
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Essential Job Duties:
  • Leading Safety Culture for project.
  • Coordinate all required manpower, equipment, small tools, and material
  • Supervise Craft crews to ensure completion of the work to schedule, quality and budget requirements
  • Ensure the allocation of construction work hours to relevant cost codes and assist with preparation of weekly construction progress reports to measure actual versus planned progress for all phases of the direct construction work
  • Ensure work completion in accordance with the latest revision of issued for construction (IFC) drawings, specification, Request for Information (RFIs) and other project design information,
  • Work daily and weekly with the project control team for planning and scheduling installations to meet the project milestones and objectives
  • Supervises the development of project schedules and monitors production to assure timely project completion.
  • Reviews cost reports and makes analysis to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity.
  • Conducts regular project inspections and advises Project Superintendent/Project Manager of work progress, quality of work and conditions requiring attention regarding safety.
  • Administers project policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with engineers, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to isolate project issues and assists in developing solutions.
  • Regularly conducts safety meetings and provide assistance to supervision in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention.
  • Conducts regular meetings with project supervision to review project progress and to plan future construction activity.
  • Determines the necessity of construction equipment and assures equipment is properly maintained.
  • Oversight of start-up and commissioning.
