Under the general direction of the Correctional Food Manager I, the Supervising Correctional Cook has a broad range of responsibilities; to plan, organize, and supervise the production staff in a large State Correctional Facility Culinary Food Program, servicing three (3) meals per day. The Supervising Correctional Cook oversees at least five (5) employees at the Correctional Supervising Cook level, while being a shift supervisor. The position herein is designated as Supervising Correctional Cook A.M., P.M., Relief, and/or all Facilities.

Working Conditions

California Correctional Institution is located in the Tehachapi Mountains approximately 325 miles south of Sacramento and approximately 120 miles north of Los Angeles.

CCI is a Multi-level, Sensitive Needs Yard, facility consisting of four (4) facilities, encompassed within a campus style layout with varied terrain. Work in this location may require exposure to varied temperatures dependent upon the season.
