Job Description:
To provide oversight for the daily clinical operations for all Acute Therapy within area of responsibility. To provide supervision to ensure optimal workflow and delivery of quality, cost effective patient care. To coordinate maintenance schedules so as to not disrupt patient care. To promote continuous improvement and ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental exposure, infection control and all other applicable internal and external regulatory standards. To provide patient care as needed.

1. Supervises the human resource activities of assigned area including, but not limited to, work allocation, staff selection, scheduling, training, evaluation and problem resolution. Ensures smooth and efficient operation in area of responsibility. Maintains adequate staffing levels necessary to meet patient care volume.

2. Supervises patient care in area of responsibility. Resolves issues regarding quality of patient care.

3. Supervises adequate supply levels are maintained. Coordinates equipment maintenance schedules in a manner that does not disrupt patient care.

4. Supervises continuous improvement and ensures compliance with workplace safety, environmental exposure control, infection control policies and all other applicable internal and external regulatory standards.

5. Performs the duties of a therapist. Tests and evaluates patients for therapy. Functions as an integral member of the treatment team. Prepares written treatment plans and provides direct treatment according to all applicable regulatory requirements. Ensures the appropriateness and quality of treatment interventions that meet physician and patient therapy goals.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy or related field, or Occupational Therapy and four (4) years of experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist/Audiologist or Occupational Therapist (OT) by the appropriate State of Alabama Board or registered as a Registered Physical Therapist (PT) or (RPT) by the State of Alabama Board of Physical Therapy or certified as a Board-Certified Musician Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) required. Currently certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
