CLASS SUMMARY:

Responsible for supervising the work associated with operating and maintaining the Airport's Environmental System. Oversees daily operations and maintenance schedules for department personnel. Supervision of the operations and maintenance includes, but is not limited to, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
  • Supervises, delegates and reviews assigned work. Provides coaching and counseling, staff development and fitness, evaluates performance and applies organizational policies and procedures.
  • Closes scheduled and unscheduled work orders.
  • Oversees supervisory duties on multiple shifts. Must be flexible and adjust schedule with operational needs including coverage on all shifts and on-call responsibilities.
  • Responsible for understanding the entire environmental system at CVG and the importance it has with our Kentucky Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (KYPDES) Permit.
  • Works collectively with the management group on the development of organizational objectives. Works in close collaboration with various department leaders to coordinate work.
  • Partners with the Supply Chain department and Administrative Assistant to identify, locate, order parts and equipment, and to ensure services are paid.
  • Partners with department personnel to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed.
  • Advises and assists subordinates with difficult maintenance and repair problems.
  • Prepares and develops documents and/or reports for work completed, equipment, safety training, performance and regulatory records as required.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in support of department operations.
  • Assures proper safety equipment is used and training developed and delivered to ensure safety and efficiency in the department.
  • Responsible for assisting with all contract management activities as documented In KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As one of the subject matter experts, responsible for all key aspects of contract management, ensuring KCAB's interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.
  • Participates in Disaster Preparedness activities, as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs snow removal operations as assigned, including but not limited to, supporting in a leadership capacity.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    Associate's degree in a related field and three years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

    LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Commercial Driver's License - Class A preferred
    • Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
    • Obtain and maintain airfield area driving
    • Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
    • OSHA 30-hour Certification

    ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Positions in this class typically require reaching, fingering, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

    Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
