Supervisor, Financial Assistance Specialists

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Access/Accounts, and the following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, organizes and directs the work of the Financial Assistance Specialists, Accounting Assistants, and Transplant Coordinators. Coordinates work assignments and serves as a resource person while performing the duties of the staff, as necessary. Serves as an advocate and leader of process improvement within area of responsibility. Communicates and works closely and effectively with internal managers, employees and external agencies, while acting as liaison between Case Management and Patient Billing. Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, visions, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business with two (2) years of experience/knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Disability, Hillsborough County Health Care Program (HCHCP) and Victims of Crime OR High School Diploma with three (3) years of experience in Patient Accounts as well as two (2) years of Supervisory experience.
• Extensive background and knowledge of Patient Accounting Procedures, County, State and Federal Regulations, and Customer Service Techniques.
