BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervise & oversee all shop departments
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee & supervise production schedules.
• Oversee & supervise personnel & shifting to different machines when necessary.
• Develop preventive measures to keep problems from reoccurring.
• Research cost savings and shop improvements
• Train others as needed.
• Interact with customers and engineering to help resolve quality issues.
• Interact daily with Engineering and Administration
• Report & communicate to upper management.
• Review and approve timecards/attendance
• Other duties as assigned from time to time by upper management.
• Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and
• unity of purpose.
• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma Required
• 3-5 years' experience with reading blueprints and using inspection equipment or equivalent
• 3-5 years' experience with operating some type of knee-mill, 3,4,5 Axis CNC or equivalent
• 2+ years previous management experience preferred.
• Equivalency of 3-5 years work experience in this type of environment

SKILLS:

• Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to inspect & detect tool defects
• Ability to read work order instructions
• Ability to train others

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Stationed in the shop approximately 95% of working time.
• Occasional overtime hours required.
• Attend to different tasks simultaneously
• Work in fast past environment
• Work under deadlines

SAFETY HAZARDS OF THE JOB

• Minimal hazards. General shop working conditions.

REQUIRED TRAINING FOR THE JOB:

• Prior training: 3-5 years' experience in shop environment or management field
• New Associate training: 8 weeks on-site job training with other Tru-Edge upper management
