Supervisor of Safety and Training - Maryland

Martz Bus is a family owned and operated transportation company that has been in the industry for over a century. We are accepting applications for a Supervisor of Safety and Training to join our team in Hyattsville, MD.

The Supervisor of Safety and Training is responsible for daily Department of Transportation, OSHA, and safety related compliance for Martz - Maryland. The Supervisor is the main Motor Coach Operator trainer and source of expertise and knowledge of regulations regarding the Department of Transportation. The Supervisor trains new hires in all aspects of motor coach operations for class B CDL holders as well as permit holders. We train new hires who have commercial driving experience. The Supervisor is also responsible for all safety related duties to include investigating all safety related incidents, completing incident and accident reports, report information to the insurance company, create and maintain safety and training materials, and perform DOT and OSHA inspections. The Supervisor is also responsible for employee safety and training and is the super-user of the Learning Management System. The Supervisor will create, update, maintain, and present safety and DOT related training material to all employees.

The Supervisor of Safety reports to the Corporate Safety Director and works closely with the General Manager and HR department.

The right candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: at least five (5) years of experience possessing at least a Class B Commercial Driver's License (with passenger and airbrake endorsement preferable). Two (2) years of DOT compliance experience, and OSHA experience preferable. A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience, or ten (10) years of commercial driving is required.
