Supervisor, OR Operations

Job Summary

Reports to OR Managers. Responsible for leadership of ensuring that patient care needs are met through appropriate allocation of support staff and equipment resource availability. Responsible for direct supervision of Surgical Support Assistants (including providing input into hiring, orientation, scheduling, performance monitoring and evaluation). Provides training for SSA's in organizing and operating equipment. Continuously seeks opportunities to innovate in order to reduce surgical turnover time and improve on time case starts. Interacts directly with the operating room staff, floor staff and medical staff. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.
• Four (4) years of Surgical Services, healthcare Environmental Services, or equivalent experience required including a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
• Must have Computer Skills Competency, familiarity with Microsoft Office Software.
• Must observe safe and sterile work practices.
• Basic knowledge of budgeting concepts and applications a plus.
