Position Summary

At Empower, the Shipping Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that our innovative medications reach patients efficiently and on time. This position is at the heart of our operations, where precision, quality, and timeliness are paramount. As a leader on our shipping team, you will be the driving force behind the daily dispatch of products, overseeing every aspect of the shipping process from loading and unloading shipments. Your leadership will ensure that our products are packed and labeled with care, meeting the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily shipping operations to ensure accurate and timely dispatch of goods.
  • Monitors loading and unloading of shipments to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Performs audits to ensure efficient packing and labeling of products.
  • Accountable for driving performance within the Shipping department, and for monitoring department performance against company standards.
  • Leads, trains, and motivates a team of shipping clerks.
  • Manages shipping clerk schedules to provide excellent order processing performance.
  • Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the shipping area.
  • Resolves shipping issues while actively preventing its recurrence.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement and implements solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Develops and enforces shipping policies and procedures to optimize operations.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Determines the standards for packaging quality, appearance, durability, cost, and sustainability.
  • Fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, supporting their growth and success within the organization.
  • Evaluates employee performance, provides feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Prepares performance evaluations for employees.
  • Assists with hiring, training, and developing new shipping clerks.
  • Maintains accurate records of all shipments, including dates, contents, and destinations.
  • Ensures that inventory levels are accurate, and that stock is managed efficiently.
  • Follows all cleanliness procedures utilizing the 5S methodology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping department or related function.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
