Description

  • Directly supervise assigned custodial personnel and provide operational support that meets department standards. Serve as a liaison between Custodial Services and School Leadership.
  • Conduct monthly facility inspections for quality control checks to ensure standard cleanliness requirements are met and develop improvement action plans as needed.
  • Ensure all safety standards and established protocols are upheld by assigned custodial personnel in accordance with District policy. Provide and/or support training to minimize the District's operational risks.Support management in the development and implementation of training programs that establishes goals and expectations to grow custodial employees and meet department standards. Provide individualized and/or team training in areas such as best cleaning practices, general operations of HVAC systems, problem identification and troubleshooting, and the submission of work orders in the District's work order system.
  • Perform certain human resource functions, in accordance with District policies and procedures and in alliance with Human Capital Management, including but not limited to position control, interviewing, orienting, training, and performance management. Coordinator and monitor all dispute resolutions, employee disciplinary actions, and employee terminations.
  • Evaluate and inventory custodial supplies and equipment needs within assigned area. Expedite the delivery of supplies and equipment to District facilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with District staff, contractors, and vendors on projects such as bond work and new initiatives as needed. Oversee and/or assist with emergency requests such as floods and freeze protection when required.
  • Manage relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners. Communicate regularly to ensure alignment, clarity, and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain overtime, supply, and equipment budgets. Manage and maintain accurate records including but not limited to supply and equipment inventory, overtime, cleaning schedules, personnel schedules and PTO requests, and employee training.


Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required valid Texas Driver's License and a record that meets the District's standard.
  • Required 5+ years of direct custodial experience and 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • General understanding of heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
  • Possess basic computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written. Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to prepare, manage, and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and budgeting skills and experience.
