This position will involve the development, execution, and optimization of a supplier quality process as part of the ANGI Quality Management System. The Supplier Quality Engineer will work cross functionally with internal and external customers/suppliers to continuously improve supplier performance in support of ANGI's strategic objectives. This role will involve the execution of various Supplier Quality Processes (i.e. SCAR, Audits, New Part Qualification, and Supplier Monitoring). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Qualify, evaluate, and monitor supplier quality systems for compliance to company standards and regulatory requirements. • Interface with Product Development and Purchasing teams to identify and qualify potential new domestic and offshore suppliers. • Help develop and manage ANGI Part Qualification Process with a focus on new parts. • Perform routine and for-cause supplier audits as required to support organizational needs. • Partner with procurement, engineering, customer service, and suppliers to resolve supply issues. • Maintain and provide communication for supplier corrective action report (SCAR) system for the site. • Support and enable containment activities, material dispositions, RMAs, and return to vendor (RTV) non-conforming material. • Develop data collection plans, analyze data, establish recommendations, and implement solutions for supplier performance improvement. • Help ensure supplier documentation is ongoing, received and in compliance with ANGI and regulatory requirements. • Manage supplier recovery initiatives as it relates to warranty, concessions, and production interruptions. • Support the operation of the QMS as needed through involvement in problem solving activities, internal quality system audits, and training and mentoring the ANGI workforce. • Leverage corporate (Vontier & Gilbarco) supplier quality teams when needed. • Familiarize and help enable teams with the ANGI Quality Management System. • Support ISO, PED, and CE compliance activities to achieve/maintain certification. • Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. QUALIFICTIONS, EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • 5 years + experience in quality planning, tools, and analysis in a manufacturing environment • 3 years+ experience working with suppliers and/or supply chain management. • Have a proven track record addressing quality issues with a mindset of continuous improvement and a passion for root cause analysis. • Knowledge of quality principles and tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, reliability, control charts and other quality methodologies) • Possess a strong understanding of effective Quality systems and methodologies and their impact on both the internal and external business environments; experience working in an ISO 9001 environment. • Possess a pragmatic problem-solving approach with experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement activities, including Kaizens. • Able to assist on the production floor as needed to ensure quality process compliance • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes: mechanical electronics assembly and test methods, fabrication preferred. • Working knowledge of APQP preferred. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously; able to engage members of Engineering, Sales, Purchasing or other teams as needed to address quality issues. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills. • Wide degree of latitude in decision making is expected • Understanding of ERP systems (AX) • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Visio, Power BI, etc.) • Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to represent ANGI to suppliers in a professional manner.
