The Hot Section Module Center South is a fast-paced, high-volume organization that delivers a complex and technically superior product. As the Center of Excellence for Turbine Airfoils, Hot Section Module Center South has a very strong but challenging future. We are focused on implementing cutting edge manufacturing technology to produce the latest in Turbine Airfoil designs for new engine programs like Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and Next Generation Part Family (NGPF) while continuing to retain competitive advantage. The organization needs to ensure material is delivered on-time, with flawless quality and at cost as demand increases to unprecedented amounts.

Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) are integral to the continued success of the mod center as the leaders of problem resolution teams related to part manufacture in the supply chain, liaisons between the mod center, program office and internal customer when discussing quality concerns. An SQE on the Turbine Airfoil Casting Team (TACT) has the unique experience of supporting the whole value stream of a turbine airfoil, from raw material to finished product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and execute key aspects of overseeing and assuring supplier activities to achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery and service while acting as the primary Quality Engineering focal for casting suppliers for turbine airfoils
• Support the shop floor in addressing casting related issues by collaborating with the shop quality engineering team
• Create and maintain key relationships across multiple disciplines with both the supplier and PW to resolve production challenges in a high paced environment
• Lead Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews to address high pain issues and nonconformance activity and improve quality signature
• Drive the use of 8D problem solving methodology to ensure effective corrective actions
• Team with engineering and procurement to execute proactive supply base improvement plans that improve Quality signature and to ensure customer confidence

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum of 1-2 years of quality assurance experience
• US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge/ proficiency in Quality tools such as 8D, RCCA, PFMEA, GD&T
• Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience or other Lean Systems experience a plus
• ASQ (CQE, CQM) certifications a plus
• Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities
• High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement
• Results focused work ethic to resolve issues in a timely manner
