POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Intern will work closely with senior leadership, as well as clinical and non-clinical staff, to conceive and implement plans and procedures for patient care, business improvement, and program development. This position will assist with the overall planning, development and implementation of assigned projects and tasks to support the operations of the department. This experience will enable our interns to expand skills by leading and collaborating on new opportunities, working with teams, and honing in on the fundamentals of project management in hospital administration.

The Administrative Intern will assist with the execution of transactional processes, performance improvement and change management projects, which include, but are not limited to, data and financial analysis, information technology, procurement, project oversight, business strategy, implementation, and tracking of outcomes for both internal and external leadership.

Requires a candidate who is committed to the health field and its applications. Requires active enrollment in coursework toward a degree in business administration, finance, health care administration, management, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS:

  • Basic understanding of business, finance, supply chain, health care administration preferred.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in data management and statistical analyses to recommend courses of action based on data.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with staff and senior management throughout the organization.
  • Meeting management, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail.
  • Work requires the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision on projects/tasks assigned.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks/issues when relevant
  • Ability to work in a team and a fast-paced environment
  • Basic to intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
