We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Global Supply Manager to manage Tesla wide fleet (assets, FMC, and related services), and Indirect Capital Equipment Procurement management. The role will support our stakeholders across all Tesla business units including automotive, energy, Sales Service & Delivery, and R&D.

This role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting our various groups within Tesla in an IC and management role. The Global Supply Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with expert overall sourcing expertise.


Responsibilities
  • Develop sourcing and negotiations/contracting strategies that deliver against commodity business objectives
  • Own and manage end to end procurement activities of categories in scope, including analyze current state and spend, purchasing trends, evaluate current supply base, build technical knowledge of category specific landscape, market trends/supply base, and own RFIs, RFPs & RFQ's to ensure all commercial terms are agreed and documented
  • Support organizational cost management objectives by identifying and driving commercial cost reduction opportunities
  • Address all areas of category management including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies
  • Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with Tesla teams and suppliers identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges
  • Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, service escalations, and periodic business reviews
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and influence timely decisions with key stakeholders to support category business plans and supplier strategy


Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Procurement (preferably for capital equipment), or Supply Chain/Operations Consulting
  • Experience developing "should-cost" estimates and analyzing supplier quotes
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve; Demonstrated experience achieving and exceeding cost-reduction objectives
  • Excellent Excel and other MS Office skills required; Experience with ERP or MRP purchasing systems is a plus
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects cross functionally, in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent negotiation, written and verbal skills; Organizational skills to manage competing priorities

      $72,000 - $264,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
