Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Supply Chain Technician III is responsible replenishment, distribution, storage and return of supplies and equipment in the nursing units. The Supply Chain Technician III will utilize Supply Chain technology to maintain accurate inventory control. They will possess knowledge of hospital supplies, equipment and the ordering process to enable them to provide assistance to clinical personnel when they have questions or requests. The Supply Chain Technician III will actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The technician must be able to work independently and proactively. Employee may access secure medication supply areas to complete assigned job duties.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates, through behavior, CAMC's Core Values of Quality, Service with Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Stewardship and Safety as outlined in the organization's Service Excellence Program. • Performs counts, distributes and delivers supplies and linen within CAMC Health Systems,Inc. • Inventories and restocks supplies and linen in ancillary locations with supplies from the Material Handling Center following department order/request. • Complete inventory replenishment process utilizing manual or automated technology. Follows established inventory re-order levels. Performs data transfers of inventory information to/from the docking station and hand held computer. • Checks for and pulls opened, damaged, expired and /or excess inventory and replaces unusable, damaged or dirty boxes/packaging, labels, etc... Handles defective, damaged and/or expired inventory in accordance with established policy. • Participates in taking physical inventories and/or cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory control. • Participates in new product learning sessions • Serves as Supply Chain Management resource/advocate for assigned clinical units. • Becomes knowledgeable of contracted products and services. • Stock all warehouse locations with incoming freight and rotating stock to prevent non-conforming issues • Organizes and files completed requisitions, pick tickets and other reports, records or related data. • Organizes and straightens inventory storage locations, breaks down and discards boxes; maintains the work area(s) in a clean, orderly and safe condition. • Verifies accuracy of all receipts prior to stocking shelves. • Documents all inventory activities (adjustments, stock-outs and credits). • Ensures proper charging of supplies to departments • Packs items for shipment • Processes shipping requisitions and vendor/department returns. • Applies patient charge labels to product • Operates and maintains all warehouse equipment. • Assists with preparation, packaging, shipment and complete documentation of supplies and/or equipment for vendor returns. • Fills supply requisitions for requesting departments. • Proficient in using the materials management information system. • Efficient and accurate distribution of materials and linen within CAMC facilities. • Within the hospital, delivers non-stock supplies to all departments and keeps record of receipts. • Performs daily housekeeping functions in the linen room and other assigned work areas. • Maintains established schedule for distribution of material and linen. • Assist with loading and unloading of supplies and linen from delivery trucks. • Pull soiled linen from locations in the hospital to the dock area. • Develop and maintain a positive and effective relationship with all point-of-service representatives. • Serve as a positive and professional representative of Supply Chain Management. • Completes the daily shift report documentation. • Comply with all CAMC rules for health, safety and personnel conduct. • Maintain a clean and safe work area. • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (Required) Experience: 6-12 months of warehouse/stocking experience
