Responsibilities
- Books, coordinates and reschedules patients' procedures and/or surgical appointments.
- Relays necessary messages to nurse/physicians.
- Contacts patient and forwards all pre and post-op instructions for surgical procedures.
- Processes calls to insurance companies regarding verification of insurance coverage's and pre-certifications for surgical procedures.
- Prepare physicians' hospital log for the following day's schedules.
- Faxes surgical assist information to assisting physicians/offices.
- Ensures a complete daily surgery log is submitted to our billing entity.
- Maintains and updates current information on physicians' surgical and office schedules.
- Assists in investigating billing and insurance problems as related to procedures and surgeries.
- Refers all indigent or problem accounts to billing department to arrange payment agreement prior to scheduling procedures.
- Performs all other duties as requested by physician or administrator.
Qualifications
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Experience posting payments and charge entry
- 2 years' recent experience in a clinic or healthcare setting
