Join the Surgery team at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas as a Surgical Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Surgical Specialties/Surgery/Operating Room and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you will serve as the face of the OR.

General Surgical Coordinator duties may include the following:

• Work alongside the RN charge nurse to provide administrative and clerical support for a group of patients and caregivers.
• Related functions support timekeeping process, filing, staff scheduling, attendance tracking, data collection and reporting and special projects.
• Serve as the primary communication point of contact for the unit; manage the communication system for the unit, input computer orders for patients, schedule and monitor charging procedures, book add-on surgery cases, verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and assist other team members in assuring optimal patient care.

This is a Full Time, Day Shift position with a Monday - Friday schedule from 2:30PM - 11PM. Schedule flexibility is required as there may be some variation. This position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Previous administrative support experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Surgical Specialties/Surgery.
