Putnam Hospital Center Nocturnist Service Responsibilities: (Carmel, NY)

The Surgical PA Service at Putnam Hospital Center is seeking to add two full-time nocturnist board-certified Physician Assistant's to join its team. The Surgical PA Service is a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. These nocturnists will care for the surgical inpatients, perform consults and admissions, as well as assist in procedures for the Intensive Care Unit. This position also has the opportunity for O.R. first assisting.

• In-house night shift to include management of surgical floor patients, inpatient consults and ED surgical consults. Specialties covered include but are not limited to general surgery, urology, breast, plastics and orthopedics.
• Surgical PA will also be available for OR coverage of emergent add on cases in the operating room, as well as c-section coverage.
• Schedule will consist of a 12 hr shift schedule which will include one weekend a month of coverage.
• Expectation of continued growth of the service to include overnight procedures such as central line placement.

This position is for full-time nights, 7 p.m. to 7a.m., with one required weekend shift per month. There is an extensive onboarding and training period as well as a supportive environment for collaboration and learning.

Qualifications
• The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified as well as possess strong surgical and patient management experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education required
• Candidates with at least one years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.
