Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision of the Registered Nurse, function as a member of the surgical team.
  • Create and maintain a sterile field by following the established procedures of Tulsa Spine & Specialty Hospital.
  • Understand the surgical procedures and effectively anticipate the needs of the surgeon, pass instruments, and efficiently provide sterile items.
  • Assist with and assume general departmental duties and responsibilities.
  • Practice within the guidelines set by AST and AORN.
  • Perform most job duties independently and follow established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program, equivalent training as an LPN, or five years of experience in scrubbing operative procedures.
  • Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA or NCCT)

Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Two years of clinical practice with experience in the specific field
