Insight Global is looking for full-time Surgical Technologists to support the operating room for a large hospital out of Annapolis, MD. This person will:

1. Provide direct care to patients with special attention to personal hygiene in the morning and bedtime care. Initiate and maintain all types of safety measures.

2. Assist with admission of patients by greeting and performing initial weight measurement, vital signs, disrobing as necessary and orientation of patient to room and unit.

3. Prioritize discharge of patients by assisting with dressing, gathering belongings and transport if necessary to lobby; remove equipment and supplies from room for environmental staff cleaning.

4. Participate in patient care, vital signs, intake and output and other data collection and records according to policy and procedure; obtain specimens as requested using approved procedure. Assist patients with mobilization and/or positioning as ordered by physician or unit protocol.

5. Recognize and report pain, patient complaint or obvious change in patient condition, including mental status to assigned nurse.

6. Participate in the orientation of new staff acting as mentor as needed and requested.

7. Transport medications, as necessary during the usual course of transporting patients within the institution, in keeping with policy and procedure regarding medication security. Ensure that medication is delivered to persons authorized to handle medication according to AAMC policy.

8. Maintain adequate levels of supplies and equipment on the unit.

9. Transport patients in accordance with established safety policies.

10. Processe written medical staff orders in accordance with established policy and procedure; communicating STAT or urgent orders to the care provider.

Required Skills & Experience

* Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program or its equivalent. Must have completed a minimum of 125 surgical procedures in the role as first scrub.

* BLS certification (by American Heart Association)
