Sustainable & Impact Investing Strategist

Your role

Are you someone who has a passion for financial markets and driving social and environmental change? Do you want to work closely with Ultra High Net Worth families to help them align their investment capital with their impact objectives? If so, we are looking for someone to join the UBS Global Wealth Management Chief Investment Office Sustainable and Impact Investing team in the US to develop the UBS House View on sustainable investing.

We're looking for someone who can:
• Produce original investment research across asset classes, using qualitative and quantitative methods (using Excel or Python);
• Work collaboratively with a global team of investment analysts to further integrate sustainability and generate new investment views and actionable ideas;
• Regularly interact with UBS Financial Advisors and family office and institutional clients to communicate investment research and provide tailored views;
• Stay current on the latest developments in sustainable investing across ESG, data, sub-topics and sustainability-related regulation;
• Over time, develop expertise in an area of sustainability, while maintaining strong fluency across asset classes and subject matters;
• Manage strategic projects driving the adoption of sustainable and impact investing;
• Be a self-starter, take ownership of investment research projects, and turn ideas into opportunities to advance UBS' goal of mainstreaming sustainable investing.

Your team

Global Wealth Management's Chief Investment Office (CIO) synthesizes the analysis and expertise of our global network of economists, strategists, and analysts. We are present around the globe, closely monitoring and assessing financial developments, and identifying emerging trends or economic inflection points. Our team's primary goal is to identify and effectively communicate investment opportunities and market risks to help preserve and grow our clients' wealth.

The CIO Sustainable and Impact Investing team is a team of strategists and analysts with experience across asset classes and sustainability topic areas. We work closely with the larger CIO investment teams to jointly produce ideas and communicate the House View to UBS Financial Advisors and clients. We also work closely with product, due diligence, legal and compliance, and sales teams and serve as the subject matter experts for Wealth Management, helping to translate sustainable investing frameworks into ideas and practices at UBS.

Your expertise

• 7+ years of experience as an investment analyst/strategist
• A strong interest in applying financial analysis methodologies to sustainable investing research, with a strong ability to communicate your research in multiple formats (written reports, videos, podcasts);
• Knowledge of sustainable and impact investing frameworks, including ESG data and/or impact measurement and monitoring approaches; strong understanding of key transformational sustainability-driven opportunities and challenges
• Efficient research capabilities, including the ability to assess a wide range of qualitative and quantitative data and communicate it clearly to a non-expert audience;
• Flexibility, intellectual curiosity, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a perpetual willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment;
• Experience using the Bloomberg Terminal preferred, but not required.
