The PEET (Platform, Engineering, and Emerging Technology) Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) team is hiring for a System Development Engineer to support CloudTrail and AWS Config and other MAS2 ADC Services! You'll design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.

AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.

This role supports the build and operations of the CloudTrail and AWS Config services in ADC regions. As Systems Development Engineer you'll also support to design, development and maintenance of tools and products that improve the experience of ADC builders and customers.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

A day in the life

Every day is Day 1 at Amazon. On a typical day, our Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineers (ADCE) will support AWS Config engineering and operations by completing activities including but not limited to:

Manage and monitoring systems health and status

Troubleshooting software, network, and/or configuration issues

Identifying, documenting, and communicating engineering and operations recommendations to team members

Writing and disseminating after action reports capturing key events, actions taken, and future mitigation plans

Supporting the design and development of new systems and components

Providing on-call support when necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience

- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
