Position Summary



The System Director leads clinical engineering initiatives to provide superior customer service and operational efficiency by managing the execution of the MemorialCare asset management plan. This position manages operations on a day-to-day basis, collaborates and maintains positive relationships with vendors and stakeholders, manages vendor contract strategy, works to develop colleagues, and provides a communication channel between hospital executives and MemorialCare facilities. The System Director also directs Joint Commission inspections and ensures that MemoiralCare services are in compliance with regulatory standards.

The System Director must have the ability to think and lead strategically; build relationships across a diverse and complex vendor base; provide mentoring to clinical engineering team. A System Director must have the ability to identify cause and effect relationships, making decisions about root cause correction.



Leadership

  • Apply knowledge and experience of technology and/or equipment to oversee site operations and provide direction to others
  • Oversee personnel staffing to ensure the best service is being delivered
  • Create and manage the departmental budget
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs to meet departmental goals and ensure service excellence
  • Mentor, coach, and develop others to deliver continuous service excellence
  • Represent Clinical Engineering on committees and attend other administrative meetings as appropriate
  • Expected to persuade divergent groups to build consensus and mobilize other toward desired outcomes
  • Combines a broad cross functional scope of the business with an expertise to drive results
  • Regularly draws upon expertise and makes decisions about appropriate course for achieving targeted goals
  • Work with supply chain and contracting on contract management


Operations Management

  • Manage the clinical engineering service plan
  • Oversee the integrity of site inventory and databases
  • Direct all aspects of acquisition, maintenance, and repair of the equipment, as well as ongoing training and education of staff related to safe medical device uses and practices
  • Ensure complete documentation of all repair activities and orders, and maintain stock of repair parts to ensure rapid repair of defective equipment
  • Manage Joint Commission inspections and ensure that MemorialCare services are in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Creates a vision and strategy for process improvement initiatives


Clinical Engineering Management & Development

  • Represent and advance partnership relationships with hospitals
  • Establish and define departmental goals and objectives to meet MemorialCare goals and objectives
  • Drive and participate in vendor Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Oversee and ensure the involvement of MemorialCare capital acquisitions
  • Effectively collaborate with MemorialCare and vendors to develop win-win solutions
  • Leads and delivers the performance of clinical engineering KPI results
  • All other duties as assigned.


*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements



Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing in a clinical engineering environment
  • Experience in regulatory compliance required
  • Experience managing financials, contracts, costing, and equipment


Education/Licensure/Certification:



• Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or technological related field is required
