This System Emergency Management Officer shall be responsible for all aspects of emergency management functions for the Baptist Health system. This will include, but not limited to, the design, facilitation, and performance of emergency management exercises required by authorities having jurisdiction, establishing relationships with and displaying the ability to work closely with community emergency management agencies and partners. This individual shall design and implement emergency management training programs for staff. The Emergency Management Officer will actively participate on community emergency management committees, and maintain documentation as required by authorities having jurisdiction. This individual is also responsible for training of hospital staff in related areas of emergency management such as fire safety, fire extinguisher training, severe weather response, and other areas as assigned. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.Description

  • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management or related field required. At least 3-5 years previous work experience in the field of Emergency Management required. In lieu of college degree or professional certification in Emergency Management a minimum of 5 years experience in emergency management required.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission and other related regulatory having jurisdiction preferred.
  • License / Certification required: ICS 100,200,700, 800
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated.
