System Engineer- Propulsion / Electrification Assembly Automation

The System Engineer will manage the development of manufacturing processes and solutions for automation systems, destined to produce E-Mobility components (e.g.: battery and electric motor assembly). In this role you will guide the development team efforts to be aligned with key technical requirements, as well as ensure completion of activities on time and within budget.

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:
  • Process Engineering of automated and manual assembly systems that require one or any combination of process technologies used in manufacturing production systems (i.e. battery module/pack/cell-to-pack assembly, electric motor assembly, laser welding, vision, joining, dispensing, adhesives and sealers).
  • Guiding the development of proof of concept and new technical solution
  • Problem solving and enhances technical diagnosis
  • Manage the development of the new solutions, guiding design teams
  • Ensure proper validation plan during prototype in house testing
  • Support on site implementation of new manufacturing solutions
  • Make sure that the actual investment in new developments is in line with the approved budget
  • Analyze and mitigate the risks on solutions performances and target cost
  • Lead the validation of key commercial components
  • Quality tracking and improvement


Required Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial automation system experience in process engineering, and/or machine tool design and development
  • Experience in Engineering of Propulsion, Powertrain Assembly, or Battery Assembly industrial automation systems
  • Working knowledge of CAD to develop tooling concepts, system layouts, and process flows
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite tools
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically (0 - 20%)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Propulsion, Powertrain Assembly or Electrification industrial system automation
  • Experience in Engineering, Proposal Development, and/or Estimating of industrial automation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A working knowledge of 3D CAD (i.e. Catia, NX, or Solidworks)
  • Experience in project planning and monitoring
