Advantage Tech is searching for a System/Network Engineer to join their client's team in Belton, MO.
Summary:
Systems Engineer I provides design, configuration, and support for company systems and servers as well as as-needed end-user support using superior customer service in a corporate IT environment. Supports server hardware and software installations across the organization's multiple facilities either remotely, via onsite personnel or outsourced IT, or site visits. Supports users of all skill levels via phone, email, remote access, or in person. Provides solutions in a timely manner, documenting all issues and resolutions. Primary Responsibilities:
This Job Description may not include all the duties assigned to the employee and may be updated and modified by the department supervisor, according to the operational dynamics and needs of the company. Position will be responsible providing top tier escalation support for the team and company clients. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Manages and supports the design, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of all server hardware, OpSys, and related applications in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Ensures the design, configuration, and deployment of the company's security best practices, including but not limited to Active Directory users, groups, and security, end-point protection, group policies, spam, and URL filtering, and as needed end user training in such areas.
  • Perform routine system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, reviewing system logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Manages and supports backup systems and applications to ensure data integrity in the event restores or disaster recovery is required.
  • Supports the Network Engineer in the monitoring and maintenance of LAN/WAN network connectivity, hardware, security systems, and server hardware and software in a multi-site corporate network environment.
  • Promptly and courteously assist with or resolve support tickets escalated from the Help Desk team in person, via phone, email, or remote support.
  • Provide superior customer service demonstrating professionalism, helpfulness, and care to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Document all design, configuration, and account information and create knowledgebase entries as needed to maintain orderly and current records of IT environment.
  • Document all support requests, actions taken, and resolutions.
  • Serve as a mentor and roll model to IT staff in network, server, and personnel related issues.
  • Follow best practices in the design, configuration, and maintenance of all IT systems.
  • Ensure Safe Fleet meets all Service Level Agreements with end-users.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

  • 5-10 years' minimum experience in corporate IT or managed IT services environment.
  • 5 years' minimum experience in hands-on systems administration or systems engineering role supporting multi-site network environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices design, configuration, and support for corporate servers.
  • Advanced knowledge configuring and maintaining multi-site enterprise servers and Active Directory, security groups, Group Policy Administration, RMM, endpoint protection, and BCDR applications.
  • Experience with Active Directory domain consolidation in a multi-site enterprise environment.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to configure and support secure configurations, including URL filtering in network switches, firewalls, and VPN.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and supporting Windows workstations and network printers in a multi-site environment.
  • Superior customer service skills, ability to troubleshoot and explain complex issues, and deliver resolutions to non-technical individuals over the phone, email, remote access, or in person.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Windows network servers in both a physical and virtual environment, including VMware and Nutanix.
