The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. Job Summary

OCDE's Information Technology (IT) Division is making a difference in Orange County schools by providing services and leveraging technology to simplify, enhance, and provide innovative business and educational solutions. The IT Division is committed to providing creative and collaborative ideas tailored to each district's specific needs. The Information Technology Division is currently seeking a positive and solution-oriented individual to serve as Systems & Database Manager. This position will manage, plan, organize, and supervise operating systems, servers, storage, and databases within the Information Technology Division; assess requirements, plan, design, install, upgrade, and create policies; manage and support OCDE servers, storage devices, operating systems, and databases; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions and outside agencies; and provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to higher level management staff. The selected candidate will recommend and assist in implementing goals, objectives, and strategic plans by establishing schedules and methods for specialized services and implementing policies and procedures. Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major course work in a computer related field. - Three years of years of recent extensive experience in the areas of design, development, testing, debugging and deployment of applications using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server. This experience should have been performed at a senior level and within the last two years. There are supplemental questions in the application.
